Help Your Teen Feel Understood and Supported

The teenage years are usually overwhelming, for both teens and their parents. Emotions can feel intense, stress builds quickly, and it’s not always easy to talk about what’s going on.

If your teen is struggling, you don’t have to figure this out on your own. Teen counseling offers a supportive space where they can open up, make sense of what they’re feeling, and learn how to navigate challenges in a healthier way. All in a safe and confidential atmosphere.

Is Your Teen Going Through a Difficult Time?

Not all struggles are visible. Sometimes teens withdraw, become irritable, or seem “fine” on the surface while dealing with a lot inside.

Your teen might be experiencing:
  • Anxiety, stress, or constant pressure from school or social life
  • Low mood, lack of motivation, or changes in behavior
  • Difficulty managing emotions or frequent mood swings
  • Challenges with friendships, relationships, or fitting in
  • Low self-esteem or negative self-talk
  • Trouble communicating or opening up at home

These challenges are more common than you might think. With the right support, teens can learn to better understand themselves and handle what they’re going through. And this is where our role begins.

How Can Teen Therapy Help?

Teen therapy provides a space where your teenage child can talk openly without fear of judgment or pressure. At the same time, we work on building practical skills that help them feel more confident and capable in their daily life.

Through therapy, teenagers can:
  • Better understand their emotions and reactions
  • Learn healthy ways to cope with stress, anxiety, and other challenges
  • Improve their communication and relationships
  • Build confidence and a stronger sense of self
  • Develop tools they can use at school, at home, and with schoolmates

Support for Parents

We also recognize the important role of parents. When appropriate, we collaborate with you to support your teen’s progress while respecting their need for a safe, private space.

What Will Teen Counseling Give Your Teenage Child?

Teen therapy can help your child feel more balanced, confident, and in control of their life.

Many teens that we work with experience:
  • Greater emotional awareness and regulation
  • Improved confidence and self-esteem
  • Better communication with family and peers
  • Reduced stress and overwhelm
  • A stronger ability to handle challenges independently

The goal isn’t to change who your teen is; it’s to help them feel more secure, capable, and supported as they grow and face new roles and new challenges.

We understand the sensitive nature of teen counselling. Our approach is always warm, collaborative, and adapted to each client’s personality and needs.

In teen counseling, we will:
  • Create a safe, non-judgmental space for your teen to open up
  • Explore what they’re going through at their own pace
  • Teach practical tools for managing emotions and stress
  • Support them in building confidence and problem-solving skills

We balance giving teens their own space while also keeping parents appropriately involved. We’ll always discuss how communication works so everyone feels comfortable and supported along the way.

I was born and raised in California and moved to Arizona almost 10 years ago. I come from an Asian American household and blended myself into a Hispanic American household through my adolescent and young adult years. Mental health has been a big part of my roller coaster of a life, and the mental health field has given me the passion and dedication to guide others to become the expert of their lives.

I was drawn to becoming a therapist because I love helping people navigate themselves for a better quality of life. It's important for me to provide a space for others to be their true authentic selves and to become aware of their strengths and skills. My approach is nonjudgmental and comfortable, and I enjoy working with pre-teens, teens, adolescents, adults, and couples struggling with anxiety, depression, OCD, life transitions, and relationship issues.

Outside of sessions, I love all cultured food, enjoy singing, and showing my creative side by designing t-shirts.

I became a therapist because I've always felt a strong pull toward helping others grow into the best versions of themselves. What matters most to me in this work is building genuine, meaningful connections where clients feel seen, heard and supported. I believe that healing begins in a space rooted in compassion and empathy.

My approach to therapy centers on creating a safe, trusting and collaborative relationship. I meet each client with understanding and respect, tailoring my work to their unique experiences and goals. I specialize in working with trauma, relationship challenges, and a range of mental health concerns, striving to help clients navigate these areas with care and empowerment.

Outside of my professional life, I'm a big movie enthusiast. At one point, I even set a goal to see every movie playing in theaters for an entire year. I genuinely enjoy pop culture, and you'll often find me referencing a favorite film or song in everyday life. It's one of the ways I connect, relate and bring a bit of personality into my work and personal life.

I've always had a heart for people, especially those who just need a little help along the way. I believe we're wired for connection, and every time I get to sit with someone and offer support, it reminds me of why I do this work.

My main approach is Compassion Focused Therapy, which helps you understand why your brain gets stuck in stress, shame, or self-criticism, and teaches you how to respond to yourself with more kindness. I'm often reminding my clients to give themselves some grace, because we all need that.

I especially love supporting women navigating life transitions, the chaos, the growth, the identity shifts, and the surprising joy mixed in. I also enjoy working with teens who benefit from perspective, insight, and support from another trusted adult. My hope is to make things feel a little lighter, a little clearer, and maybe even a little funny.

Outside of work, my life involves my family, our horses and dogs, off-roading, fishing, reading, or binge-watching shows like Friends or Sherlock. We're also Dodgers fans, which keeps life interesting.

My personal background drew me to becoming a therapist and motivates me to keep doing the work I'm doing. Guiding individuals in becoming the best version of themselves is a unique experience that not everyone gets to see. I cherish the genuine relationships I've been able to build with clients.

I meet clients where they're at and really focus on building a therapeutic relationship. Common challenges I enjoy working with are life transitions, first generation experiences, generational trauma, racial identity, and anxiety.

I'm originally from Illinois and love anything nature related. When I'm not in the office, I'm hiking, running, or creating art. I also have over 40 books on my bookshelf (non-therapy books)!

Do parents participate in teen counseling?

Frequently Asked Questions About Anxiety Therapy

It depends on your teen’s needs. Some sessions are individual, while others may include parent involvement. We aim to balance your teen’s privacy with keeping you informed and supported.

What if my teen doesn’t want to come to therapy?

This is very common. We approach teens in a way that feels natural and non-pressuring, helping them feel comfortable over time rather than forcing them to open up right away.

Couples counseling and marriage counseling

Couples counseling and marriage counseling both focus on helping you strengthen your relationship, no matter what stage you’re in. Whether you’re dating, engaged, married, or navigating a long-term partnership, the goal is the same: to help you better understand each other and create a healthier, more connected relationship.

Together, we focus on improving communication, working through challenges, and rebuilding trust in a way that feels supportive and practical. Whether you’re trying to repair your relationship or simply want to grow stronger as a couple, this work is about helping both of you move forward with clarity and intention.

Do you take insurance?

While our therapists don't accept insurance directly, they can provide superbills for you to submit to your insurance company for out-of-network reimbursement. Many clients get a significant portion of their therapy costs covered this way.

How do I know if my teen needs counseling?

If your teen is struggling emotionally, behaviorally, or socially—and it’s impacting their daily life—therapy can be a helpful step. The free consultation is a great place to talk it through.
